Jasprit Bumrah's comeback is likely to be further delayed as he would likely miss the final two Tests of the current series against Australia, which could be a big setback for India.
Bumrah was reportedly beginning to bowl in the nets at Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy earlier. According to a recent story in The Telegraph, the Indian management has chosen not to hurry him for the Test matches against Australia.
Additionally, the decision will be made final next week on whether the bowler will play in the upcoming ODI series.
Even though Bumrah is tremendously skilled, career setbacks due to injuries have continually hampered him. The Asia Cup and the T20 tournaments were off limits to the 29-year-old due to a back issue.
Despite being a member of India's selection for the home series against Sri Lanka, the great spinner was forced to withdraw from the tour at the last minute due to right glute discomfort.
To make up for the bowler's absence, India does, however, have a strong bench. In the Australia home series, bowlers like Mohammed Siraj are competent enough to step in for him.
