It was curtains to vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 on Saturday, December 17 with Jaipur Pink Panthers clinching a close win against Puneri Paltan to become the two-time vivo PKL champions.

Over the course of the season, there were incredible performances which came from some known stars as well as fresh faces. These players left a mark on Season 9 and their performances were recognized during the vivo PKL award ceremony. Here are the award winners from vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9. 

MVP – Arjun Deshwal, Jaipur Pink Panthers

Arjun Deshwal was the standout raider of the campaign and deservedly won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in Season 9. He amassed 296 raid points and 17 Super 10s - the most by any player in this season - in 24 matches and played a major role in Jaipur Pink Panthers’ Season 9 triumph.

Deshwal also executed seven Super Raids in Season 9 and at times single handedly won matches for the Panthers.

Raider of the Season – Bharat, Bengaluru Bulls

Bharat quickly became Bengaluru Bulls’ go-to raider in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9. The prolific raider finished the campaign as the second best raid points scorer and was adjudged the Best Raider of the Season with 279 raid points from 23 matches.

A livewire on the mat, Bharat managed to pull off the joint-highest Super Raids (11) and the second most Super 10s (16).

Defender of the Season – Ankush, Jaipur Pink Panthers

A vivo Pro Kabaddi debutant, Ankush took to the league like a duck to water and went from strength to strength as the season progressed. Despite having defensive stalwarts like captain Sunil Kumar in the team, Ankush finished as the league’s highest scoring tackler with 89 tackle points, making him the Best Defender of the Season.

Ankush, in fact, scored the joint-highest tackle points for a defender playing his debut season. His 9 High 5s in Season 9 was the most by any defender and he also registered 5 Super Tackles.

New Young Player – Narender, Tamil Thalaivas 

Narender showed his potential right from the word go as he scored a Super 10 in his debut vivo Pro Kabaddi match. The young raider was declared the New Young Player of the Season for scoring 243 raid points in his first-ever vivo PKL season. 

He created history in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9 by scoring the most raid points by a raider in his debut season. Narender also bagged 15 Super 10s and executed four Super Raids in vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 9.
